Boos Professional Butcher’s Blocks are built in Effingham, Illinois from select American Northern Hard Rock Maple. Hard Rock Maple is easy on knives and resists nicks and gouges, preventing bacteria from penetrating the wood. The AB01 block features a 10-inch thick, end grain construction top. The surface length and width measurements are 24 by 24-inch and the cutting surface features a Boos block cream finish with beeswax. Four matching turned legs are included. After simple assembly, the AB01 block stands 34-inch tall. John Boos recommends oiling butcher's block tops every three to four weeks to maintain and protect the wood from drying or cracking. John Boos Oil and Cream sold separately.
